The Board of Directors has approved the following rules for the Cherry Knolls Swim Club. Violation of these rules or intentional damaging of Club property will result in suspension of Club privileges and/or legal prosecution. Anyone using the facilities (pool, clubhouse and grounds) does so at their own risk. No liability will be assumed by the Club for the actions of any employee, Club member or guest in connection with such use.
The Cherry Knolls Swim Club is a private club sustained by membership fees and donations. Members are allowed to bring guests to the Club after paying the appropriate guest fees. These fees shall apply to swim and facilities use, and non members will not be allowed to use the facilities unless accompanied by a member, 16 years of age or older.
General Rules:
- All members and their guests must sign in each time they enter the Club.
- Members, whether present or not, shall be responsible for their children at all times when using the Club facilities. Members shall be required to familiarize themselves, their children, and their guests with all policies and procedures.
- Any person caught destroying or defacing Club furniture or property will be billed for replacement or repair of that property and may be subject to revocation of membership privileges.
- The pool staff is authorized by the Board of Directors to evict any persons for disorderly conduct on Club grounds. The staff may also, at any time, enforce any additional rules they deem necessary at the time, to insure the safe operation of the Club.
- Persons observed climbing perimeter fences of the Club will be subject to immediate expulsion and disciplinary action. Members are requested to report any violation to the Club staff.
- The Club Manager or a staff member, at their discretion, may send a child home for disciplinary reasons.
- Dogs or other pets are not permitted on Club grounds at any time.
- There shall be no throwing of rocks or debris.
- Glass of any kind will not be permitted on Club premises.
- Place all trash, waste paper, pop cans, etc. in the receptacles provided.
- No smoking allowed on the pool grounds.
- The telephone is for emergency purposes only.
- The chairs and lounges are primarily for the use of adults. Because of the limited number of such furniture, use will be restricted to people age 18 and over, unless chairs are not in use. Children will surrender chairs and lounges upon the request of an adult.
- It is expected that all members and guests shall be considerate of others by keeping the volume of radios down, trash picked up and generally enhancing the enjoyment of the facilities by everyone.
- There shall be no parking in front of the semi-circle walks near the main entrance gate to the pool or the double gates by the dumpster.
- Bicycles shall be parked in the designated area on the east side of the pool by the upper lot and should be locked. Bike racks are provided and should be used by all bike riders. Bikes are NOT to be parked along the fence. The Club is not responsible or liable for any theft.
- Skateboard, scooters and inline skates are not allowed inside the Club grounds. This includes, but is not limited to the hallway entrance, locker room area, outside patio and pool apron. Skateboards and skates may be carried onto Club grounds and remain with the member for safekeeping. The Club is not responsible or liable for any theft.
- The Club is not responsible or liable for the loss of or damage to any personal property left in the clubhouse or on the Club grounds.
- Lost articles not claimed by the day of closing (Labor Day) will be donated to charity.
- Recreational swimming will be suspended for swim meets and/or other activities approved by the Board of Directors.
Swimming Pool Rules:
• Any NON-SWIMMER must be accompanied by a responsible ADULT IN THE WATER and within arms reach at all times, regardless of use of floatation device (includes water wings, noodles, floating swim suits, inner tubes, etc.).
• A parent, guardian or responsible caretaker must accompany children under the age of nine (9) during regular swimming hours unless prior arrangements are made with the Club Manager. Unaccompanied children under the age of nine (9) will be sent home if such arrangements have not been made.
• Showering is recommended before entering the pool.
• There shall be no horseplay or running on the concrete areas surrounding the pool at any time.
• Pushing, dunking and rough play is prohibited.
• Hanging, sitting or going over lane ropes is prohibited.
• Headstands on the edge of the pool or jumping onto flotation devices are prohibited.
• Ball playing in the pool will be permitted during slack times at the lifeguard’s discretion. No hard balls will be allowed.
• Flotation devices may be allowed in the pool at the lifeguard’s discretion and are restricted to the shallow end of the pool.
• No diving or jumping off the starting blocks is allowed.
• Do not obstruct the swimmers’ path to the steps or ladders.
• The pool will be cleared the last fifteen (15) minutes before each hour for adult swim (those 18 years of age and older).
• There is no smoking allowed on the pool grounds.
• The lifeguard’s whistle must be observed.
• There will be no talking to the lifeguards on duty watching the pool. Visiting with the guards will be kept to a minimum.
• Swimsuits are required. No cutoffs are allowed.
• The Club Manager and staff are authorized to issue and enforce additional rules deemed necessary for the proper conduct of the pool and for the protection, health and safety of members and their guests.
• All persons using the pool do so at their own risk. The Club will not be responsible or liable for any accident or injury in connection with such use.
• All safety regulations must be observed.
Wading Pool Rules:
• Six (6) years of age is the maximum age of children allowed in the wading pool.
• Any NON-SWIMMER must be accompanied by a responsible ADULT IN THE WATER and within arms reach at all times, regardless of use of floatation device (includes water wings, noodles, floating swim suits, inner tubes, etc.).
• There is no lifeguard on duty at the wading pool. Parents are absolutely and solely responsible for the oversight, safety and supervision of their children.
• Absolutely no running in and out of the wading pool will be permitted.
• Children must wear regular swimming attire or sunsuits while swimming. Plastic pants or swim diapers for infants and toddlers are required.
• All persons using the wading pool do so at their own risk. The Club will not be responsible or liable for any accident or injury in connection with such use. Parents are solely responsible for the safety of their children in the wading pool.
Diving Rules:
• Diving is permitted only in the deep end of the pool.
• All divers must wait until the area in front of the board is clear before going off the diving board. All entries must be made straight off the end of the board, not diagonally or to the side.
• Do not dive off the board until the previous person has safely reached the side of the pool.
• Do not obstruct the swimmers’ path to the ladders.
• Divers shall swim clear of the diving area immediately upon completion of their dive.
• Only one person is allowed on the board or board ladder at any time.
• There shall be no side mounting of the board.
• There shall be no hanging on the underside of the diving board.
• No recreational swimming is allowed in the diving board area, except when the board is not in use.
• All swimmers with questionable swimming ability, when entering the deep water or using the diving board must swim one width of the pool to the satisfaction of the lifeguard on duty.
• All persons using the diving board do so at their own risk. The Club will not be held liable for any accident or injury in connection with such use.
